Rockway Red

Tasting Notes:

A perfect blend of Baco Noir and Cabernet Franc with small amount of Syrah for added complexity. Our Rockway red is a fruit driven wine that is lively and fresh. This wine showcases intense nuances candied red fruits, black forest cake, spice, and a decedent sweetness that is framed well by its natural acidity. A medium bodied red with a smooth and luscious mouthfeel.

Winemaking Notes:

This wine is a blend of Cabernet Franc (50.6%), Baco Noir (47.7%), Syrah (1.7%). Each variety was picked and kept separate until blending. The grapes were de-stemmed and crushed and put into stainless steel tanks for cold soaking and fermentation. Each batch was pumped over twice daily for 25 to 30 days. After fermentation was completed for each batch, it was then pressed off into tanks. The wine underwent Malo Lactic fermentation during the oak aging process. The wines were ages in both French and American oak from 8 months to 18 months depending on the variety. The wines were racked from barrel to be blended to be harmonized before being filtered and bottled.
