This Syrah has a deep ruby colour with a bright hue. Aromas of blackberry, savoury pepper, sweet tobacco, and oak nuances are up front with subtle notes of dried herbs, floral, and blueberries in the background. On the palate, ripe fruit comes forward with notes of blackberry and plum. This medium-to-full-bodied wine has a beautifully balanced acidity with chewy tannins on the mid palate. Plum, black pepper, vanilla, and oak carry through to a medium long finish.
This Syrah was harvested in mid-October from our Estate Vineyard. These Grapes were destemmed and crushed into tank for fermentation and pump-overs were performed once or twice per day depending on the stage of the must. The wine macerated for a total of 28 days before being gently pressed and then transferred to 25% new French oak and the remaining to neutral French oak barriques. Malo Lactic fermentation occurred during the early months of the barrel aging process. The wine was then filtered before bottling.
