This wine has a bright straw colour, with a clear hue. Bursting from the glass are tropical, fruity, floral and perfumed aromatics. A medley of citrus and tropical fruits, including pineapple, passionfruit, and honeysuckle, burst from the glass. Subtle aromas of white peach, crisp apple and pear follow, with a hint of musky spice to round out this fruity blend. Fresh and clean on the palate, with layers of flavours consisting of citrus, pineapple, pear, apple, and pink grapefruit. Secondary flavours of honey, flowers, and white peach are underlying on this light-med bodied wine. This is an easy drinking, off dry wine, with a balanced acidity that lingers through a medium finish.
This wine is a blend of 86% Vidal, 10% Riesling, and 4% Chardonnay. Each variety was harvested and kept separate until blending. The fruit was gently pressed in our bladder press for an optimum flavour profile. The juice was cold-settled for 48 hours before being racked off its lees. The juice was then warmed to 14 degrees and underwent a cool long fermentation in stainless steel tanks, which allow us to capture the varietal aromas and the pure expression of the Twenty-Mile Bench. Once fermentation finished naturally, the wine was then left on its ferment lees for 4 months before being stabilized, filtered, and bottled.
This is an everyday style wine that is great on its own or with light foods.
