VQA WINTER FESTIVAL
Over the next 4 weeks we are going to be preparing and sharing with you some amazing cocktails that can be made with our award winning Icewines. Wine Country Ontario has developed some incredible recipes that are to be made with the Icewines of Niagara. We are going to take you on this inspiring flavour journey that you will definitely want to try. We have picked 3 recipes from the Embrace the Taste of Home brochure that we feel complement our Icewines the best.
Kicking off this flavour journey is the, VQA WINTER FESTIVAL cocktail:
- 1oz VQA Rockway’s 2017 Vidal Icewine
- 1oz Vodka (We used Dillon’s Vodka)
- 1oz freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Cinnamon stick for garnish
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add VQA Icewine, vodka, freshly squeezed orange juice, lemon juice and cinnamon stick. Shake sharply and strain into a rocks glass or mason jar filled with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Colour is bright golden straw. Aromas of dried apricot, peach and saffron are layered with notes of lemongrass, green tea and fresh cantaloupe. On the palate the wine is rich and opulent with a harmony of sweetness and well-framed acidity. The wine is youthful, with encouraging development if cellared A luscious mouth-filling wine, loaded with layers of flavour and complexity. Ready to consume young or cellar for many years to come. Proudly won the Silver Medal in Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.
