Tasting Notes
A lively Riesling with a pale straw colour and an enticing nose of apple blossom, apricot, and steely minerality. The bright acidity leads way to a juicy palate of ripe pear, honeysuckle, and candied lime. A balanced wine with minerality and acidity that lingers through a persistent smooth finish with beautiful tension.
Winemaking Notes
This Riesling is produced from our Estate vineyard showcasing the unique terroir of the Twenty-Mile Bench. The grapes were planted in 2004, covering 1.73 acres. The fruit was harvested and gently pressed for the optimum flavour profile. The juice was cold-settled for 48 hours before being racked off its lees. The juice was then warmed to 14 degrees and underwent a cool long ferment in stainless steel tanks, which allowed us to capture the varietal aromas and the pure expression of the Twenty-Mile Bench. Once fermentation finished naturally, the wine was racked off its ferment lees and stabilized, before filtering and bottling.
Food Pairing
This wine lends itself to a variety of pairings including sushi, spicy foods such as curries, simple summer salads and grilled pork chops.
