“This wine shows an elegance not often associated with Pinot Gris. It is equally at home paired with a meal or on its own as an aperitif.”
Ben Minaker– Winemaker
This Pinot Gris is pale straw in colour. It has aromas of Pear, toasted almonds and baked apples. In the mouth it shows a creaminess but it’s not heavy at all. It retains a fresh backbone that keeps it upright and fresh. It finishes with a smooth finish that tastes of apples.Tasted September, 2018
Wine Making Note:
This wine was fermented in an older, large oak barrel. That is why is shows a bit of a creamy side. This wine was fermented to dryness meaning there is no more sugar in it. It spent 8 months in the barrel and then was removed to be bottled.
Try this wine with creamy cheese like Brie and camembert. To bring out the fruity side have some orange marmalade with the cheese.
