The 2015 growing season started with a sigh of relief from the second of two very cold winters. March carried the cooler temperatures which led to a later start to the season. April and May were of the seasonal norm, followed by a wet June and very dry July. August and September brought back favourable conditions allowing the vines to get back on a normal ripening schedule. October rains dictated picking times, but thankfully warm temperatures persisted throughout the fall, allowing later ripening varieties the time and temperatures they needed. A cold snap in early January allowed for Icewine to be picked. Although yields were down, we harvested great quality across the board. A vintage showing classic cool-climate character.
Colour is golden straw. The nose is wild honey, infused with peach and subtle hints of bergamot and saffron broth. The palate is luscious and delicate with racy acid that holds the note and balances the equation. Flavours of honey, vanilla bean and baking spice meld with hints of wild flowers. A long lingering finish.
