Tasting Notes
Light straw in colour with a clear hue. This Gewürztraminer is pretty, with varied and complex aromatics emerging from the glass, delivering a classic spectrum of varietal floral aromas, ripe orchard fruit, pear and yellow plum, lychee, and soft floral notes of rose petals. Light in body with flavours which mirror that of the aromatics, lychee dominating with pear, apricot and wild honey flavours to follow. This is balanced wine, slightly off dry with an acidity that lingers through a persistent smooth finish with beautiful tension.
Winemaking Notes
Our Estate Gewürztraminer is crafted from our small 0.81-acre block. The grapes were hand harvested and gently whole cluster-pressed for an optimum flavour profile. The juice was cold settled and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation was stopped just before it would have naturally finished to achieve the perfect balance between residual sugar and the vibrant acidity. The wine was then blended before stabilizing, filtering, and bottling.
Food Pairing
This wine lends itself to a variety of pairings including Thai mango and lychee salad, Moroccan lamb and apricot tagine, five-spice duck legs. Cheese lovers, pair this with your favourite pungent cheeses.
