This Chardonnay shows a vibrant medium straw colour with a clear hue. The nose opens with aromas of fresh green apple, pear, and lemon citrus notes followed by almond and hints of soft oak nuances including vanilla, biscuit, and lees. On the palate this wine is elegant and structured. There is a creaminess, with a touch of spice and toast to compliment the fresh citrus and orchard fruit accords. A medium bodied Chardonnay that showcases beautiful acidity and a lingering salinity that remains through a long finish.
This Chardonnay was harvested from our estate vineyard and gently pressed. The juice was then cold settled in tank before going to barrel for fermentation and malolactic fermentation. The wine was then aged for 9 months in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels. Once aging was completed, the wine was racked back into tank where it was stabilized and filtered before bottling.
This chardonnay is an ideal match for grilled seafood, tarragon and mushroom risotto, smoked trout salad with Dijon vinaigrette, and of course a variety of cheeses.
